Main Stages is one shared programme for children aged 7–14, divided into three age-appropriate stages.

Students attend the same venue, on the same day and at the same time throughout their Main Stages journey. During each session, they rotate within their Stage groups for acting, singing and dance, before coming back together for registers, breaks and shared activities.

This structure allows every child to receive training that is right for their age and ability while remaining part of the wider Main Stages family. Friendships grow across the stages, younger students are inspired by older performers, and older students naturally become role models for those following behind them.

Three Specialist Teachers

Every discipline is taught by a teacher who specialises in that subject, giving children expert guidance in acting, singing and dance.

How a Main Stages Session Works

Every Main Stages session lasts three hours, with students rotating through acting, singing and dance.

Equal Time in Every Discipline

Each stage rotates through acting, singing and dance every week, ensuring every child receives balanced training and continues to develop across all three disciplines.

Tailored for Every Stage

Children train within their own stage during lessons, allowing every class to be tailored to their age and experience while remaining part of the wider Main Stages programme.

The Main Stages Journey

Main Stages grows with your child. As students progress through the stages, the training develops with them, becoming more challenging while they remain in the same supportive environment with the same teachers, friends and familiar routine.

As children grow through Main Stages, the training develops with them—but the friendships, teachers and sense of belonging remain the same.

Stage 1 (Ages 7–9)

Children build confidence and develop strong foundations in acting, singing and dance while learning the importance of teamwork, creativity and performance.

Stage 2 (Ages 10–11)

As confidence grows, students begin to refine their technique, develop stronger performance skills and become more independent in their learning.

Stage 3 (Ages 12–14)

Students are challenged with more advanced acting, singing and dance, developing confidence, leadership and performance skills while preparing for the exciting opportunities ahead.

Performing Together

Main Stages gives every student the opportunity to perform throughout the year, celebrating their progress while creating unforgettable memories with friends across all three stages.

Annual Theatre Production

The highlight of the year sees all three stages come together in one spectacular production, performing as one Main Stages programme in costume under professional lighting in front of family and friends.

Christmas Presentation

Each Christmas, families are invited to watch an informal presentation celebrating everything students have been working on during the first term.

Memories That Last

Every performance builds confidence, teamwork and resilience while creating unforgettable memories and lifelong friendships.
