Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 31 July 2026

Welcome to Set the Stage Performing Arts.

These Terms & Conditions apply to all classes, holiday camps, workshops and other activities provided by Set the Stage Performing Arts, the trading name of Bournemouth North Performing Arts Ltd.

By registering your child with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Trial Classes

We offer all new students the opportunity to attend a two-week trial before committing to regular classes.

The cost of the trial varies depending on the class or age group and must be paid before the trial begins.

At the end of the two-week trial, your child’s place will continue as a regular place unless you let us know that you do not wish to continue. Full details of regular fees and payment arrangements will be provided when the trial is booked.

2. Classes

Our class timetable, venues and teaching staff may occasionally change due to circumstances beyond our control.

Where possible, we will provide advance notice of any significant changes.

All children are expected to:

  • Treat staff and fellow students with kindness and respect.

  • Follow the reasonable instructions of their teachers.

  • Participate in a way that supports a safe and enjoyable learning environment.

Children attending classes without a parent or carer must be fully toilet trained.

3. Holiday Camps, Workshops & Special Events

Places on holiday camps, workshops and special events must be paid for in full before the event begins.

Unless otherwise stated, bookings for these events are non-refundable. However, in exceptional circumstances, refunds or account credit may be offered at the discretion of Set the Stage Performing Arts.

If Set the Stage Performing Arts has to cancel an event, an alternative date, credit or refund will be offered where appropriate.

4. Fees & PaymentsClass fees are payable by monthly automatic card payment on the 1st of each month.

Fees are calculated for the full academic year and spread over 12 equal monthly instalments from September to August. Monthly payments therefore remain the same regardless of the number of classes taking place in a particular month, including during school holidays.

Current fees are published on our website.

Should fees need to increase, we will provide at least one month’s notice.

If a payment is unsuccessful, we will contact you to arrange payment. Continued non-payment may result in your child’s place being suspended until the account is brought up to date.

5. Photography & Video

From time to time we may take photographs or videos during classes, performances, workshops and holiday camps.

These may be used on:

  • Our website

  • Social media

  • Printed promotional material

  • Marketing publications

We will always respect the photography permissions selected during registration.

You may change your consent preferences at any time by contacting us.

6. Behaviour

We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for every child.

Bullying, harassment, abusive behaviour or conduct that compromises the safety, wellbeing or enjoyment of others will not be tolerated.

Where concerns arise regarding a student's behaviour, we will normally work with the student and their parent or carer to resolve the situation. However, where behaviour is serious, persistent or compromises the safety or wellbeing of others, Set the Stage Performing Arts reserves the right to suspend or terminate a student's place. Fees already paid will not normally be refunded.

We also ask that parents, carers and visitors treat our staff, volunteers and other families with courtesy and respect at all times.

7. Notice of Leaving

Should you wish to withdraw your child from classes, written notice must be given by email to:

hello@setthestagepa.co.uk

Our monthly cut-off date for notice is the 14th of each month.

For example, if notice is received on 10 October, the October payment will be the final payment. If notice is received on 20 October, the November payment will also be due.

No refunds or reductions are given if a child chooses not to attend classes during their remaining paid period.

July Notice

The only exception to the above notice arrangements is notice given during July. Regardless of the date notice is received in July, the August instalment will remain payable.

This is because class fees are calculated for the full academic year and divided into 12 equal monthly instalments from September to August. By July, students will have received their full year's programme, including their annual show, and the August payment forms the final instalment of those annual fees.

8. Medical Information

Parents and carers are responsible for informing us of any medical conditions, allergies, additional needs or changes to emergency contact details.

It is important that this information remains accurate throughout your child's time with us so that we can provide appropriate care where required.

9. Circumstances Beyond Our Control

Set the Stage Performing Arts will not be liable for delays or failure to deliver classes or events where this is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Severe weather

  • Venue closures

  • staff illness where suitable cover cannot reasonably be arranged.

  • Government restrictions

  • Utility failures

  • Other unforeseen events

Where possible, we will communicate any disruption promptly and make reasonable efforts to minimise inconvenience.

Where a class cannot take place, we may offer an alternative class, venue, date or other reasonable arrangement where practicable. Refunds or credits will be considered where appropriate, taking into account the circumstances and any alternative arrangements offered.

10. Performances

Performances are an important part of the Set the Stage experience, giving every child the opportunity to build confidence, celebrate their progress and perform in front of an audience.

We encourage all students to take part wherever possible; however, participation is always optional, and we understand that individual circumstances may occasionally prevent attendance.

Information about rehearsals, costumes and performance arrangements will be shared with families well in advance.

The cost of taking part in our annual performances is included within our monthly class fees, meaning there are no additional show participation fees to pay. Audience tickets are not included and, where applicable, will be available to purchase separately.

11. Our Liability

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence.

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

  • Any rights you have under UK consumer law.

12. Privacy

We handle all personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website.

We only share information with trusted third-party providers where necessary to operate our classes, process payments and communicate with families.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

Where significant changes are made, we will give parents and carers reasonable notice using the contact details provided during registration.

Any changes will apply from the date specified in that notification and will not affect any rights you have under UK consumer law.

14. General

These Terms & Conditions form the agreement between you and Set the Stage Performing Arts.

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
